Stone, like the title states, is a Hip Hop Stoner Nior made by Convict Games. Released on PC in September 21st, 2018 and then later for XBOX ONE on January 27th, 2020 and Nintendo Switch on May 8th, 2020. I played the Switch Version given to me by Convict Games themselves.
FUN: If you like story driven games and comedy with a side of drama, then you will enjoy this game. This game is straight forward with what you need to do next and it is on the short side (about 2-3 hours depending on if you non-stop play it), but the witty banter and how you can change it when choices pop up will leave you with chuckles in each Act and Area. FUN - 1.5.
REPLAY: Since this is a kind of Choose-Your-Own-Adventure with the choices you make when given. I say this does have slight replay value since the story is short and if you choose one path in one playthrough you can choose the other in the 2nd playthrough as well as if you what you hear the witty voice acting of the story. REPLAY - 1.
STORY: Since this a story driven game, I will only say the beginning to not spoil anything. You play as Stone, a Koala, who wakes up after a major hangover and gets a call from a mystery caller saying that Alex, his lover, is gone. Now it's up to Stone to try and find Alex. STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINALITY: This game Is like many other Nior type games. Search for clues, question people, go from place to place. However, The way that the characters are and how Stone is is quite unique due to everyone is Animals from Australia and that the voice acting fits each character well enough to be relatable. Also the areas you go to are more present day instead of classic Nior era dark tones. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINALITY - 1.
GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is short and sweet. No signs of any from of difficulty whatsoever. The only controls you use is the Control stick and the A Button (I played this on the switch mind ya). GAMEPLAY - 2.
TOTAL - 7.5/10.
There you go. My review for Stone. Hope this review peeks your interest to try this game out. I would like to thank Convict Games for giving me a copy to play this game. This has been Nostalgic Gamer 89. Until Next time, Keep on Gaming!

Luigi's Mansion 3 for the Nintendo Switch
Luigi's Mansion 3 was released on October 31st, 2019 for the Nintendo Switch. Made from teamwork between Nintendo and Next Level Games, This is the 3rd installment of the famous scared younger brother of Mario as well as the 2nd installment with the teamwork of Next Level Games.
FUN: Just like the other 2 games, Luigi is here to ghost bust or to exact ghost suck his way around this time a huge hotel. It's the same old things as the other two games where you progress through the story while collecting Boos, Ghosts, and Cash. If you liked the other two games, you will like this one. FUN - 1.5.
REPLAY: After you beat the story, the save file leaves you at the area right before the final boss. Unless you missed anything, didn't get top rank at the end of the game (which is A Rank), or wish to play online multiplayer with your friends, this game doesn't have much replay ability if you 100% the game. The somewhat good news is that new multiplayer DLC just came out and we are expecting more coming soon. REPLAY - 1.
STORY: Luigi, Peach, Mario, & 3 Toads (Yellow, Blue, & Red) all were invited by the Hotel Owner to stay free as charge. Right after they were shown to their rooms and Luigi fell asleep, Luigi awoke to screams from Peach and Mario. When he went to investigate, he finds out King Boo escaped for a 3rd time from Professor E. Gadd's lab. After Luigi dropped down a laundry shoot to escape being captured by King Boo wanting revenge on him, he finds the Professors car with a newer model of his trusty vacuum, The Poltergeist G-00. Now he is off to figure out what is going on and to rescue his brother and friends again. STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINALITY: Not much changed or is new in this 3rd installment. Just like the 1st two games, Luigi has to rescue his brother Mario and his friends from King Boo. Another thing which is the same is that you collect Boos and Gems just like in the 2nd game Dark Moon (the 1st game had 50 Boos and was part of the game while Dark Moon and this game they are optional). The only true difference is the Hotel itself. each floor has unique themes to them as well as a unique boss ghost for each one. Of course the major joke original thing here is that the title is Luigi's Mansion but we are in a Hotel. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINALITY - 0.5.
GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is very well balanced. Controls don't mess you up. If they do it's very rarely and usually the aiming of shooting things from the vacuum. However, the aiming target helps guide you when its having issues. If you are good with these types of games the game will become casual while new players will have a perfect amount of challenge without it being rage inducing. GAMEPLAY - 2.
TOTAL - 7/10.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer for the 3DS
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer was released on Sept. 25th, 2015 by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS.
FUN: In this version of Animal Crossing, all you do is Design Houses, Lot, Buildings, and add as many pieces of Furniture you want without worrying about Bells to buy the items you are using. However, that's all you do. No Bug, Fish, Fossil, or Painting Collecting. Just Designing. FUN - 1.5.
REPLAY: This is one of those Neverending type games. It doesn't have an end. You just keep making designs until you drop. REPLAY - 1.
STORY: You are the new employee at Tom Nook's Homes. And apparently, the only pro when it comes to designing. Everyday, you do a designing job, write a report (aka Saving), and go to the next day while a run-on gag of Tom Nook's meetings and business is just playing Golf. STORY - 1.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: Not much Original content for this game. It's like any other Animal Crossing Game except that they only have you do one thing, design rooms and lots. Besides that Difference, you don't have to worry about Bells and you can design and add things to your heart contents. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 1.
DIFFICULTY: This is an Animal Crossing Game... there is no Difficulty in this series. DIFFICULTY - 2.
TOTAL - 6.5.

Super Mario Maker for the Wii U
Super Mario Maker is a Create & Share your own levels game for the Nintendo Wii U. Released on Sept. 11th, 2015 for North America by Nintendo.
FUN: Super Mario Maker (or SMM for short for the rest of the review) is what I call Neverending. All you do in this game is Create new Levels, Upload your Levels, and play Mario Challenges that uses other gamers Levels. There are 2 Mario Challenge Modes; 10 Mario Challenge & 100 Mario Challenge both with an Easy and Hard Mode. Besides that, there is not much else. FUN - 1.
REPLAY: As I said before, this game is Neverending. There are unlimited number of Stages to play from other Players. There is an ID Number featured on every uploaded Level for easy share. And it's always different each time you play the Mario Challenges. As for the Creating Part, that only ends when your imagination ends. REPLAY - 2.
STORY: There's is no story. None at all. STORY - 0.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: This whole game is Original when is comes to Create-A-Level stand point. Unless you are a Hacker and made Bootleg Mario Games, this is the 1st Mario game where you Create the 8 World Levels. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2.
DIFFICULTY: This one is hard to pin-point... Every Level is different due to actual Players like yourself Creating them. Some are hard, some are balanced, and some are easy. I guess it can be said that this game is balanced due to the ability to skip hard levels in the Mario Challenges. The main difficulty is to actually get people to give a star to your levels. The More Stars you get, the more Medals you Profile has. The More Medals you have, the More Levels you can Upload. Only Problem is that you need real players to play, beat, and star your levels in order to get medals. DIFFICULTY - 1.5.
Total - 6.5.

Splatoon for Nintendo Wii U
Splatoon is a game made by the company Nintendo and released on May 29th, 2015 at Midnight. It's a 3rd-Person Shooter involving creatures called Inklings who love battling in turf wars.
FUN: This game can be quite addicting. It's mostly a Multiplayer Online game, but it also has a Single Player part to it as well. Only downfall is that the game does not balance high leveled players with new low leveled player very well, thus leaving some battles unfair and one sided. However, even if that is the case, the game is so addicting that you will just try and win the next battle. Single Player mode is pretty much just a bunch of missions to save the Great Zapfish that apparently alien Octos stole. FUN - 1.5
REPLAY: This game, which is easy to say, is just an Online Shooter. However, the way they set it up, it never gets boring. When you join your friends sometimes they will be your teammates and other times your foes. Also, they set up a set of arenas to battle on and after a while they change the arenas to different one, allowing us to play different areas without giving them to us all at once. REPLAY - 2.
Story: There is none or very little. Sure the Single Player mode tells a story in missions, but not by much. This game is more of an Online Shooter. STORY - 0.5
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: This whole game is more or less unique. The only thing I saw that is not unique is the fact that it is a Online Shooter. There are a lot out there. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 1.5
DIFFICULTY: Now for difficulty, it has to do with your foes' skills vs yours and your teammates' skills. Other then that, nothing. No choice of difficulty. No added difficulty. It's all skills. DIFFICULTY - 2.
TOTAL - 7.5
There you have it. Splatoon for the Wii U. Not much to the game, but addicting and fun nonetheless. This has been Benjamin P. Parker aka NostalgicGamer89 & Nintendo Rater. Until next time. Keep on Gaming!

Ducktales Remastered for the Wii U (PS3, XBOX360, & PC too)
Ducktales Remastered is a remake of a old classic NES title "Ducktales" made by CAPCOM in Sept. 1989. With the help of WayForward, CAPCOM released this version for 4 systems in Nov. 12, 2013. I played it on the Wii U, so this game will be reviewed under that system.
FUN: If you remember the classic NES game as well as the Saturday Morning Cartoons, then this game will bring Nostalgia overload. When they Remastered the game, they change little to nothing about it. The controls are still great, the music is still memorable, and they even added Voice Acting that bring childhood memories of the cartoons back. FUN - 2.
REPLAY: This game doesn't have much replay value. However, it is so simple ad enjoyable for many players that replaying the levels for the humor and music is still fun. On top of that, on your first playthrough, you are not able to find enough money to be able to buy all the gallery items to unlock everything. The good news still, one the game is beaten the first time, all the stages are unlocked for you to pick and play. REPLAY - 1.
STORY: It all starts off with the Beagle Boys breaking into Scrooge McDuck's Money Vault. You play as Mr. McDuck as you are going through your Vault battling the Beagle Boys with your only weapon, your cane. Within the Vault, you find you Nephews Huey, Dewey, & Louie trapped by the Beagle Boys.
After rescuing your Nephews and saving your Vault, Scrooge McDuck finds a Treasure Map leading to 5 different places with 5 highly valued treasures. It up to you as Scrooge McDuck to find these treasures to make yourself even richer! STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: There's not much differences in this game nor are there any original content. This is a remastered version of the classic NES title. However, there are a few changes. The most major change in this version is the last level.
In the classic NES title, they had you replay one of the past levels as the final level. In this game, they added 2 new levels, The Vault as a opening level & another one just for it to be used as the final level. Another change is that the game actually has Voice Acting. The NES version had it's limitations, so they couldn't do any voice acting. The comedy between Scrooge McDuck and LaunchPad will have you laugh time to time. With the Wii U tablet, You are able to keep the map displayed as you play the game on the TV. The last add-on is the Gallery. The Gallery can only be unlocked when you spend your founded new cash on the items. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2
DIFFICULTY: This game actually has 4 different difficulty settings; Easy, Medium, Hard, & Extreme (only unlocked by beating the game on Hard). Each difficulty setting has it's own set of rules. There's also a mode called Hard Pogo (for your cane, since you use it as a pogo stick). The controls are simple and easy to use. However, a newbie can have trouble at times with the jumping from rope to rope and jump distances. All these issues can be annoy, but you soon get a hang of knowing how soon enough, so you will learn fast. DIFFICULTY - 2.
TOTAL - 9.
There you have it! Ducktales Remastered for the Wii U! I highly recommend this Nostalgic Trip for anyone who wants a cheap, simple, but fun game. Until next time, this has been Benjamin P. Parker aka The Nintendo Rater.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse for the Nintendo 3DS
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is a Nintendo 3DS & Wii U eShop Exclusive game by WayForward. Released on October 23, 2014, this is the 3rd game of the Shantae series.
Shantae is a Half Genie and the Guardian Genie for Scuttle Town. In this game, thanks to a pirate named Risky Boots in the previous game Shantae: Risky's Revenge, Shantae is no longer a Genie.
FUN: This game captures the essence of what a classic platformer game should be. Since Shantae is no longer a Half Genie, she has to use Tools and Weapons, instead of transformation magic from her previous games, she picks up along her journey to aid her even further. The Touch Screen for the 3DS makes for easy access to her items such as health items and extra attack weaponry and power.
The controls are smooth and the button placement makes anyone who hasn't played a Shantae game before easy to pick up and play. The characters and music also makes the game quite enjoyable. FUN - 2.
REPLY: The reply value for this Shantae game is actually quite unique. There are 3 different ending for this game; Any% complete, 100% complete, and 100% Speedrun. However, you can't unlock the 100% Speedrun until you beat the game once with either Any% or 100% complete. On top of that, beating the game once will unlock, Pirate Mode!
Pirate Mode allows the player to start the game with all the Pirate weapons and tools you picked up during your 1st playthrough. This allows quick shortcuts and gives you a better chance at the 100% Speedrun ending for the 2nd playthrough. REPLAY - 2.
STORY: The story starts off with Shantae getting awoken by a load bang outside her lighthouse. When she goes and checks it out, she finds out that Ammo Baron is taking over the city! During her trek through Scuttle Town, she finds the Mayor you told her that Ammo Baron owns the town now! After finding and defeating the Ammo Baron, Shantae is given a summons saying that she is fired as the town's Guardian Genie for attacking the owner!
After being assigned to her house until further notice, Shantae gets captured by Risky Boots. Risky then tells her to give her back her crew and weapons. Shantae being confused by this quickly states that she doesn't have her crew and weapons. Risky then shows Shantae that her Uncle has one of her crew member locked up. Before Shantae tried to find an answer to why, a dark mist enters Risky's crew member and transforms it into a Cacklebat! Risky releases Shantae when she realizes there's a bigger problem, the Pirate King is being revived! It's up to Shantae and Risky to stop this from happening before the whole world becomes the Pirate King's. STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: In all of the other Shantae games, Shantae was a Half Genie. Being a Half Genie gave Shantae the power to Transform into animals by dancing. In this game, thanks to Risky Boots in the previous game, no longer has that power. Instead, Shantae has to use weaponry and tools she picks up and buys in order to complete her quest. That's preety much the only difference about this game. DIFFERNCE/ORIGINAL - 1.
DIFFICULTY: The Shantae series and WayForward knows what makes a great platformer. Smooth controls and easy button placements. Those two things makes the game easy to pick up and only your skills and what you learn from playing the game will help you along the way. Most of the time, it will be you own doing that will get you killed. From not having enough healing items to forgetting a simple pattern to get through. Most of the mistakes will be you and not the game's. DIFFICULTY - 2.
TOTAL - 9.
Well, that's Shantae and the Pirate's Curse in a nutshell! I will be reviewing Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero for the PS Vita when it comes out, so be sure to check out my Non-Nintendo VG review Blog to read it! Until next time, this has been the Nintendo Rater! See ya!

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley for the Nintendo 3DS
Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley was made by the company Natsume for the Nintendo 3DS. Released on Nov. 4th, 2014, this is the new addition to the Harvest Moon series. This is the 3rd Harvest Moon 3DS game (2nd if you only count Only for 3DS games. Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns was for both DS & 3DS) Natsume made for Nintendo.
FUN: This game is a great addition to the famous Harvest Moon series. With the whole land left to your creative genius, you can make the land any way you want it. The game kind of makes you think a bit of Minecraft in the way of land forming. They also brought back the lift and move Buildings like in their previous game Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. However, this time you need the help of a guy by the name of Doc and his devices Insta-Buildings and ARCHITECT (Yes... In the game, the name is in all caps). The whole raising crops and animals has become a bit easier thanks to the story part of the game and money making is very easy due to all the Mine throughout the land. On top of all that, the marriage and kid aging is fantastic. FUN - 2.
REPLAY: This is a Harvest Moon game... The only replay value it has if you want to play both Genders or you accidentally deleted you file. Unless you do either one, this game is endless. REPLAY - 0.5.
STORY: The story goes as followed. You find yourself in a heavy snowstorm, climbing a mountain path. Upon reaching the top, you hear a voice saying go inside the house in front of you. Of course you do & you go to sleep. While asleep, you dream of the Harvest Goddess. In this dream, she's asking for your help to save this land. When you wake up, you find 3 Tools; a Watering Can, a Hoe, & a Shovel. After grabbing the tools, you step outside to hear a voice calling for help. You go to the spot where the voice was and shovel to find one of many Harvest Sprites. He then tells you that the Harvest Goddess became weak and thus this land lost the other 3 seasons to an endless Winter and they need your help in bring back those seasons and the Harvest Goddess. STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: This Harvest Moon game surprisingly has quite a bit of Originally in the game. Sure, as I said before, the creating land part feels like Minecraft, however... they never did something like this in any Harvest Moon game. Usually, you can only rearrange Items and, last game, Buildings. This time, the whole land is in your hands. Shape it to however you want it. On top of that, there are new crops to grow and well as new fodder and food to make thanks to recipes. There's even recipes for buildings! There is quite a wide range of interesting people you meet in the game, from an inventor named Doc (who makes me think of Doc Brown from 'Back to the Future'), a Blacksmith who talks in 3rd Person (who became my Father-In-Law due to marriage in the game), a rich girl, and a very young girl looking for her mom and her only clue is a pendent with her picture in it. On top of that, there are only 3 Bachelors & Bachelorettes in the game. For your kids growing stage, you are given Formula Milk to feed you kid and you will need to buy the recipes to make it as well. If you don't feed your kid at least once during the day, you will be woken up in the middle of the night by the kid's crying and your energy level will go down for the next day. On top of that, you will wake up at 8am instead of your normal 6am. During your kid's growing stage, your kid will get the Sleeping Sickness and it's your job to find a cure! Another new thing is the requests. Requests can be story based or just something that appears when you raise friendship levels with people (it also help raise them too). The Sleeping Sickness that your kid gets is actually an added bonus story request (mainly due to Natsume knowing you will be getting married and raising a kid). Lastly, you can ask the Harvest Sprites you awaken to help you with chores such as helping your flowers grow and growing special Sprite Trees (which is needed to get Mysterious Lumber to build your Giant House in order to get married and have a kid). DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2.
DIFFICULTY: None. Nana. Zilch. This is a Harvest Moon game. Even the story and the requests are easy. I finished the story before the 1st year was over and for certain requests you can use a Save & Reload Cheat that refreshes what appears in the mines and what type of wool, eggs, and milk you can get (due to the items have to be the same Quality in order for it to work. Only annoying part). Raising crops and animals are quite easy as well. DIFFICULTY - 0.5.
TOTAL - 7.
There you have it! Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley in a nut shell! Hope you gamers enjoy this review! Until next time, this has been the Nintendo Rater! See ya!

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for the Nintendo 3DS
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is a game that was released on November 22nd, 2013 Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past and game that got released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo aka SNES.
FUN: By far the best sequel Nintendo has ever made. Some of there other sequel (like Super Mario Galaxy 2... another rating for a later date... maybe) doesn't come close to comparison to this game. The controls, the story, & the gameplay all are fantastic. FUN - 2.
REPLAY: Even though it's a Zelda game and Zelda games tend to not have any replay value. Well... this sort of does. Sure it only has Hero Mode after you beat the game, however... the game is so great players are going to be playing it over and over trying to do 100% Speed Runs just like A Link To The Past. REPLAY - 1.
STORY: Just like A Link To The Past, someone has been capturing the sages in order to revive Ganon. However, since it is the sequel, it the sages' kids. Yep... the descendants of the sages. The descendant of the lost hero, Link must do thing same thing his past self did years ago to save Hyrule and Princess Zelda. STORY - 1.5.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: Well... the Original part can mostly go out the window here. It's more the Difference here that counts. It takes place in the same world map as the Light World in A Link To The Past (see... no Original here). Almost every dungeon is the same. Placement and everything except for a few minor details that only players who watch or played A Link To The Past can catch. The Difference is the instead of you gaining ALL you weapons and gear from the dungeons, you get them from a mysterious bunny guy named Ravio. However, the catch is that you RENT them. If you die, all RENTED items go back to him. Sure... after a while you can buy them off him to KEEP, but for a whole lot of Rupees (This game is very Rupee based... just like Skyward Sword... later date... again). Another Difference is of course, the Sages or Sages' Descendants. It's their kids. The next Difference is the Opposite World. In A Link To The Past... it was the Dark World (Light and Dark... creative...), but for this game it's a world called Lorule, a counterpart of Hyrule. Everyone in Hyrule has a complete Opposite way of think and most of them are quite rude in Lorule. However, some of them do keep a few things the same as their Hyrule counterpart (like the Blacksmith still love his work and swords). Of course... Princess Zelda has a counterpart named Princess Hilda. The Last difference is the way you go between Hyrule and Lorule. It's not the Magic Mirror in A Link To The Past, it actually you new skill... making yourself into a moving painting and going through tight crevices. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 1.5.
DIFFICULTY: Nice Balance... not much to say about it. It a Zelda game. DIFFICULTY - 2.
TOTAL - 8.
There you have it. LoZ: A Link Between Worlds in a nutshell. Until next time, this has been Benjamin P. Parker aka the Nintendo Rater.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for the Nintendo DS
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was released on Jan. 11, 2011 by Capcom. From the same markers of the Phoenix Wright series, Ghost Trick shares the same witty humor and suspense gameplay along with awesome music. There are no known sequels nor are there any rumors of one. Along with Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (Rating on later date), Ghost Trick wasn't well known unless you kept up on the news about the makers of Phoenix Wright.
FUN: If you haven't play this game, you should. By far, this game had the best feel for suspense in any of the games made the makers of PW (Going to shorten it now. Save space.). Also great to play as a ghost with powers aka tricks. FUN - 2.
REPLAY: Just like a lot of PW games, there isn't much to replay value. Sure, I will give that it's fun to play over and over more than the other PW game in the series. REPLAY - 0.5.
STORY: You as a ghost (Later finds out his name) who has lost everything; his memories, his body, and most importantly... his life. When he woke up, the very first thing he saw was a red haired young woman at gun point. Not knowing what to do (Due to the fact that he was dead) he heard a voice saying that he could actually do something to be able to save her. The voice call it his 'Ghost Tricks.' Later after saving the young lady, he told the voice that he wants to find out why he was killed and who he was. The voice told him two things; that he only had one night and that the red haired young lady was the key to all his questions. STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: This game is totally different from the PW series. First of all, time actually flows in each chapter. On top of that, you have to use your 'Ghost Tricks' to progress instead of a basic point and click game with a whole lot of reading. This game's major concept is the touch screen. You need to drag your character to many different kinds of items, each with an unique ability or nothing at all. On top of that, you will be needing to switch from ghost world to the living. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2.
DIFFICULTY: This game has a great balance between easy and hard. Some chapters are simple due to what to processed, but others use more unique 'Ghost Tricks' and even some logic thinking and timing. DIFFICULTY - 2.
TOTAL - 8.5.
There you have it! Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective in a nutshell! Hope you stay with me during these long waits. Very busy due to college, writing books, etc. Thanks for waiting! The Nintendo Rater.

Harvest Moon: A New Beginning for the 3DS
Harvest Moon: A New Beginning is the lastest of it's series from Nintendo for only the 3DS. Released on 11/06/12 for both the cartridge and the 3DS eShop. Made by Natsume, this Harvest Moon game went back to the basics and took bits and pieces from all there past games and put them together.
FUN: Even though Harvest Moon games are usually never ending and routine, this one, by far, is one of the best in the series. It takes the building aspect of the "Island" games, the design of the Wii games, and the humor in dialoge of "Harvest Moon 64" and "Harvest Moon DS". The main concept of the game is the building and the use of blueprints. Since you are the one who builds everything, you have the ability to place every building where you want it and if you have to move a building to make more room, you can just pick it up and carry it to a new place. A few downsides of the game are the fact that there are too many festivals too close together, so there are weeks where stores are closed for many days in a row. Another downside is that the single men and women in the game aren't really that great. Even though Neil (A Single Man) and Iroha (A Single Woman) are very easy to win over, Neil has a grumpy mood until you get him to a blue or green heart (Woman only). Iroha is usually series, but she is also cheerful on sunny days and festivals. Also, you can only have one Chicken Coop and Barn in each area of your farm (Total farm areas - 3). FUN - 1.5.
REPLAY: Let's face it... Harvest Moon games are never ending. The only way to be able to have any replay value is to choose a different person to marry and choose a different gender to play as. REPLAY - 0.5.
STORY: Like "Harvest Moon 64", you take over your family's farm. While there, you find out that the town is becoming a Ghost Town. It's up to you to rebuild the town to it's old self and beyond. STORY - 1.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: There's really not much original content that wasn't used already in other Harvest Moon games. The only thing I can think of is the ability to place and move buildings at will. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 0.5.
DIFFICULTY: It's a farming Sim. game... What is hard about that? DIFFICULTY - 1.5.
TOTAL - 5.
There you have it, Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. Just remember that I rate using only facts, not opinions. If you don't like the score, don't blame me. Thanks for reading my blog. Until next time, this was the Nintendo Rater.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star for the 3DS
Paper Mario: Sticker Star was made by Nintendo and was released on Nov. 11, 2012. Paper Mario: Sticker Star is only for the Nintendo 3DS, but is also can be bought on the 3DS' eShop for only 39.99 US Dollars. Sticker Star is the fourth game in the Paper Mario Series. After Super Paper Mario (Wii Game), Nintendo decided to go back to it's old Turn-Based Battle Style like Paper Mario (N64... I Already Rated it. It's under my It's By The Book Blog) and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (Gamecube).
FUN: This game was so entertaining, most people had a hard time putting it down. The dialoge, gameplay, and whole humor thoughout it was so fantastic that it was never boring. However, it ended too quickly. FUN - 1.5.
REPLAY: This game has no replay value, unless you count getting 100% Completion (Which I'm trying. Almost done, too). REPLAY - 0.5.
STORY: The game begins with everyone having a great time at the annual Sticker Fest. However, it didn't last long when Bowser went and touched the Sticker Comet, a comet that comes once each year to grant wishes (Seriously... why on earth does the Mushroom Kingdom have so many wish granting items!?!). Touching the Comet causes it to explode, spreading stickers everywhere and planting a special powerful sticker on Bowser's head. The sticker on Bowser's head causes Bowser to go crazy! After Bowser destroys the Sticker Fest, Kidnaps the Princess... again, and disappears, Mario wakes up to find the whole town a huge mess. After Mario gets up, he hears a voice calling him. Following the voice, he finds Kersti, a Royal Sticker in charge of protecting the Sticker Comet and the Six other Royal Stickers. She orders Mario to go and gets the missing Royal Stickers. It's up to Mario to Find the Royal Stickers and save Princess Peach Yet Again! STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: Even though this game is like it's first two games of the series (Turn-Based), it has a unigue twist to it battles. You attack using stickers in your Sticker Album. That's right... No Badges, No Parners, No Magic, Just Stickers. On top of that, with the help of Kersti, you can Papertise (Outside of Battle ONLY) and use a Slot-Machine-Like Battle Spin for more power. To get more powerful Stickers that aren't like your normal items (Boot, Hammer, Flowers, Etc.), all over the worlds are items called Things. If you go to certain places, you can fling these Things against a wall and turn them into Stickers. Also... unlike the past three Paper Mario games (Only half of Super Paper Mario), each world is like New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Each world has a set number of stages that you can re-enter and re-collect the Stickers in that stage (Think W1-1, W1-2, and so forth). DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 1.5.
DIFFICULTY: If you don't have a battle plan for each battle and stage, then the game can be a little difficult. However, if you plan it out (And stock pile the Thing Stickers), it very easy and simple game. DIFFICULTY - 2.
TOTAL - 7.5.
There you have it! Paper Mario: Sticker Star in a nutshell! I got this game on Nov. 13 and just finished it today (Nov. 18). However, I did not get 100%. Since it saves the game after you beat it and brings you back to the last stage you played on the world map, I going back to finish getting 100% complete. I'm also working on a Sticker Museum Guide for Gamefaqs.com, so look for that within a week. Thanks for reading my post! Until next time... See Ya!

The Legend of Zelda: Seasons & Ages for the GBC
Upon the new era for handheld video games, Nintendo started thinking of new ways to advance the techology of gaming. From the success of Pokemon Red and Blue, for the GameBoy, and their trading through link cables, Nintendo, with the help from Capcom, they created a Legend of Zelda set of games with that trade feature included. Seasons and Ages, a set of games that makes it impossible to get a 100% completion without using both games and trading between them, was the first and only set of Zelda games (Meaning that the two games are two halves of one whole game). Seasons & Ages were both released in 2001 for only the GameBoy Color, at the exact same day. If Nintendo didn't release them at the same time, the trade feature would not have any use (Just like the Pokemon games).
FUN: Let's face it... Zelda games are always fun and entertaining. When it comes to Seasons & Ages, two different stories, both with different bosses, characters, maps, dungeons, and overall completely different games, are not fully complete and satisfying unless you play both and trade between them. Both games feel like they are complete games, until you beat the game once. There you find out that you can connect the two games via passwords you get when you beat each game the first time around. FUN - 1.5.
REPLAY: For once, there are games from the Zelda Series that actually have some replay value. Seasons & Ages have a New Game + feature that only works if you or a friend had already beaten one of the two games. When you beat Seasons or Ages for the first time, you are given a password that you have to give to someone who has beaten the other game. For example, if I just defeated Seasons and recieved the password, I would need to give the password to someone who just defeated Ages and visa versa. When you type the password from the partner game into yours, you will earn you the New Game + feature. That feature will give you new items and a special dungeon. The game may be the same exact game you just beat, but certain items (Like your sword, shield, bomb bag, seed bag, etc.) that you could only level up to level 2, now can be upgraded up to level 3. A level 3 shield equals the Mirror Shield in Ocarina of Time or maybe Link's Awakening. The shield will reflex certain attacks. The Special Dungeons are the most difficult dungeon in the two games. If memory serves me correctly, at the end of those dungeons will give you something really powerful. REPLAY - 1.
STORY: Like I said before, the two games have completely different stories. In Seasons, Link meets Din, the Goddess of Power, having fun dancing and feasting. Suddenly, Onix, General of Darkness, blows Din away using a tornado, causing the Seasons to go crazy, thus sinking the Temple of Seasons underground to some sort of lava world with creatures that look like the Jawas that collected the robots in their big tank-like sandroller on the planet Tatooine in Star Wars: A New Hope. It's up to Link to get the Rod of Seasons, all the powers of the four Seasons, and the eight Essences of Seasons, in order to save Din from Onix. In Ages, Link meets Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom, playing her harp and singing songs to people and animals. Suddenly, Veran, Sorceress of Shadows, captures Nayru inside the shadows of darkness, causing the Flow of Time to go crazy, thus making random Time Portals. It's up to Link to find the Harp of Ages, get all three Songs of Time, and Essences of Time, in order to save Nayru from Veran. STORY - 2.
DIFFERNCE/ORIGINAL: Everything in Seasons & Ages are very similar to Link's Awakening. The main difference with these two games is the fact that the two games are connected. To be exact, they are two half of one whole. Like I said before, you need both games to get 100% completion. Along with the New Game + using the two games' passwords, you can trade Rings anytime to the other game. To new items are the Rings, many types of Seeds, Rod of Seasons, and the Harp of Ages. DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2.
DIFFICULTY: Two Words... Very Balanced. DIFFICULTY - 2.
TOTAL - 8.5.
There you have it, The Legend of Zelda: Seasons & Ages, my first rating of two games. Thanks again and keep reading my posts. Nintendo Rater.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for the GameCube

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was released in the year 2002 by Nintendo. It was for the GameCube and was the first Legend of Zelda game for that system. Instead of a upgrade to 128-bit graphics, Nintendo decided to a more cartoon-like graphics. Many Zelda fans feared that this game wouldn't be up to par. However, most of them loved it even with that kind of graphics.
FUN: By far, the Wind Waker is the biggest free roaming Zelda game made. Once you have the boomerang, you're allowed to roam the great sea. Also the gameplay is great. It's enjoyable to the very end. I rate FUN - 2.
REPLAY: Like many Zelda games... no replay value at all. Sure, you can gather everything from side-quests, and every single weapon and item in the game (Thanks to my friend Sam Snapp for giving his point of view when I told him how I rated REPLAY for Zelda games). However, you always end up where you last saved. I rate REPLAY - .5 (For you, Sam).
STORY: It all started around Ocarina of Time time period (Timeline Attack!). After the hero of time left Hyrule, the great evil reappeared and sent the kingdom into darkness once again. Apparently, the darkness sunk that old kingdom to the bottom of the Great Sea. On a certain island (Called Outset Island), Kids that reach a certain age are forced to wear the outfit of the hero of time. The game begins on a young boy's birthday. It was his time to wear the outfit. After he puts on the outfit, he rescues a female pirate captain named Tetra, his sister gets kidnapped by the giant chicken that he rescued Tetra from, and sets off on a quest to rescue his sister. I rate STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: Many things in about this game are firsts. The cartoon-like graphics, The Great Sea, certain items (Like the Key Items - AKA Wind Waker, Picto Box, Grappling Hook, and many more). I rate DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2.
DIFFICULTY: The game can be easy at times, Hard at times, and Both at the same time. The only hard part is the beginning where you have to sneak through the Forsaken Fortress with no sword, Knocking out every searchlight, and not getting caught. I rate DIFFICULTY - 1.5.
There you have it... The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker rated by The Nintendo Rater. Thanks for reading my posts! Until next time!

Super Mario World for the SNES & GBA

Super Mario World was release in 1991 by Nintendo. The game was for the SNES (Super Nintendo), but then was remade for the GBA (Game Boy Advance). It was the first Mario game made in the new 16-bit graphics.
FUN: Let's face it... Super Mario World was like Zelda: Ocarina of Time in greatness. Everything about it was fun. I rate FUN - 2.
STORY: Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach traveled to Dino Island for a nice picnic. Once they arrived, the Mario Bros. grabbed a cape feather and started flying around, leaving Peach by the hot air balloon. When they returned, Mario and Luigi saw no sight of the princess. Later, as they searched for Peach, they found a dinosaur called Yoshi. I rate STORY - 1.5.
REPLAY: Like Zelda games, Super Mario World doesn't really have any replay value. However, The GBA version have a feature that if you beat the game after beating every level, almost everything turns into a Autumn/Halloween style. I rate REPLAY - 0.5.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: Let see... II already talked about it being the first Mario game as a 16-bit game, as well as for the SNES. This game introduces the character Yoshi. Yoshi is a green, yellow, blue, red, or whatever color they added in the years Dinosaur that has a killer tongue that eats almost anything in its path. Also, Super Mario World introduces the Cape Feathers. The feathers allow you to fly and keep on flying, as long as you time it right. I rate DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2.
DIFFICULTY: Super Mario World is a very well balanced game. Some levels are hard while others are easy. Also, there's some in the middle. I rate DIFFICULTY - 2.

Nostalgia for the DS

Nostalgia is a RPG (Role-Playing Game) by Matrix Software. Released on October 23, 2009. Nostalgia is based in olden times where airships were the only thing besides cars to travel with. Adventurers traveled around in look for the next best treasure or place.
FUN: The plot, the weapons, the people, and much more. Everything, but the random battles, is fun or funny. I rate FUN - 2.
REPLAY: Sorry no replay value. I rate REPLAY - 0.
STORY: A young boy named Edward (Eddie for short) finds out that his adventurer dad has gone missing. Eddie becomes an adventurer himself and starts on his own adventure to find his father. As he does this, he meets up with a gun shooter, a witch, and a priestess. However, the gang finds out that an evil group of people want that very same priestess because she holds the ability to unlock a certain puzzle of pieces and unlock a very unusual power. Also, that Eddie's father went missing helping this priestess in running away from them. I rate STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: Let's face it... only game of its kind. I rate DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2.
DIFFICULTY: A very well-balanced game, even if it has a very annoying random battles mode. However, there's an item that takes care of that. I rate DIFFICULTY - 2.
TOTAL - 8.
There you have it. That's Nostalgia rated by The Nintendo Rater. Until next time, post you soon.

The Sims 3 For The Wii
The Sims 3 is the third version of a history of Sims games from Maxis. Now made by EA (Entertainment Arts) Games, The Sims is a fun simulation game where you have to take care of people called Sims. This means... food, toliet visits, sleep, and even chatting with pals all while raising a family and working a job. The Sims is usually for the PC, but occasionally will produce version for handheld (Like the Nintendo DS or PSP) and TV video game systems (Like the Wii, XBOX, Playstation 3). This version of The Sims 3 came out to the USA on November 16, 2010.FUN: Like Harvest Moon, if you like simulation games, you will love this game. If not, just don't play. It's fun taking care of Sims and make them do things. Let's just leave it like that. I rate FUN - 1.
REPLAY: No replay value. As long as you keep a family member in the game, it won't end. Once everyone dies, the game ends. I rate REPLAY - 0.
STORY: Let's face it... there is no story in the game besides what you do with your Sims. I rate STORY - 0.5.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: One major difference is the fact that you use your control stick to move your Sims. Another difference is Karma Powers. Other than those two, it's pretty much the same game on the PC. I rate DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 1.
DIFFICULTY: Besides needed to take care of the Sims Needs, it not that hard. I rate DIFFICULTY - 1.5.
TOTAL - 4.
There you have it. A latest new game from Nintendo, rated by The Nintendo Rater. Thank You & Good Night!

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time For N64

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the fifth Zelda game in the series. This is the first Zelda game for the Nintendo 64. Ocarina of Time was released in North America on November 23, 1998. Nintendo sold 7.6 million copies worldwide. The game was also re-released on both the Gamecube & Wii systems. On top of that, there will soon be a remake of the game on the Nintendo 3DS. In the gaming edition of Guinness World Records 2010, Ocarina of Time holds the world record of being the most critically acclaimed game of all time.
FUN: First of all, you play a magical ocarina. That's the main part of the game that really fun. You also get a horse to ride on named Epona. It's also fun to move around in a 3D world. However, the only problem was the fact of the annoying fairy named Navi. I rate FUN - 1.5.
REPLAY: Let's face it... the Zelda games don't have any replay value. I rate REPLAY - 0.
STORY: Link, the Kokiri without a fairy, later finds out that he the chosen one to defeat a evil named Ganondorf. Link would be needing to gather the three elemental stones and later tokens from sages Link wakes up. After pulling the Master Sword from the Temple of Time, Link ages seven years. With the help of a mystery person named Sheik, Link travels around Hyrule to awaken the trapped sages. We also find out that Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf each have a piece of the Triforce. Link has courage, Zelda has wisdom, and Ganondorf has power. I rate STORY - 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: The game is the first one to use play note by note buttons for the ocarina. It also began the two characters Ganondorf and Sheik. This game started the whole Ganondorf equals Ganon business. This game also explains the holders of the three parts of the Triforce. Ocarina of Time added a whole new travel companion, Epona the horse. Also the fact that there were three girls that like Link instead of just Zelda. The other two girls were Saria the Kokiri and Malon the farm girl. Of course the big introduction was the annoying fairy, Navi, who kept saying 'Hey! Listen!' at bad times and also over and over again. I rate DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL - 2.
DIFFICULTY: I can go half and half on this. Some parts are easy and the other parts are hard. It all depends on the person who's playing. I'll leave it up to you. Comment on this, I really want to hear you guys opinion. Until then, I rate DIFFICULTY - 1.
TOTAL - 6.5
There you have it... that's my rating of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Even though this is my favorite 3D Zelda game, I still rated it fairly and by the topics I picked out for this blog. Thank you and keep reading.

Pokemon Yellow For GB

Pokemon Yellow Is A Game Boy Game Made By Game Freak. Game Freak Makes All The Pokemon Games For Nintendo. Pokemon Yellow Is The Third Pokemon Game Made In North America. Yellow Came Out In North America On October 1, 1999.
FUN: Like The Rest Of The Pokemon Series, It's A RPG. It's Fun To Collect, Train, & Battle With Pokemon. If Your Favorite Pokemon Is Pikachu, Then This Is The Game For You. I Can't Really Word Any More Than That. I Rate Fun 1.
REPLAY: After You Beat The Elite Four, The Game Will Play The Credits & Place You Back In Your Home Town. There, You Can Try & Beat The Elite Four Again Or Try To Collect Every Single Pokemon. Another Thing That Changes After You Beat The Game Is That A Certain Area Opens Up For You To Explore. In That Area Is A Pokemon Called Mewtwo. I Rate Replay 1.5.
STORY: You Play As Ash Ketchum (Or Any Name They Choose). When You Start The Game, You Receive Pikachu As Your Starter Pokemon. You Travel All Over Kanto, Battling Gym Leaders, Pokemon Trainers, & Team Rocket Before Heading To The Elite Four To Become The Pokemon Champion. I Rate Story 1.5.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: This Is The Only Pokemon Game In The Series That You Start With Pikachu. Yellow Is The First Pokemon Game That Is A Mix Between The First Two Pokemon Games (Red & Blue = Yellow, Gold & Silver = Crystal, Ruby & Sapphire = Emerald, Etc.). In Pokemon Yellow, You Are Able To Get The Three Starter Pokemon From People In The Game. Jessie, James, & Meowth (Team Rocket) Is In This Game. I Rate Difference/Original 2.
DIFFICULTY: This Game Is Not Really Difficult, Just Different. Instead Of Picking A Fire, Water, Or Grass Pokemon To Start With, You Start With An Electric Pokemon. I Will Admit That The First Gym Leader Will Be Hard & Some Others Will Be Troublesome, But It's Not Impossible. I Rate Difficulty 2.
TOTAL - 8.

Chrono Trigger For SNES

Chrono Trigger Is A Super Nintendo Game Made By Squaresoft. Squaresoft Is The Same Maker As The Final Fantasy. Squaresoft Is Now Known As Square Enix, But It's The Same Company. Chrono Trigger Is Another RPG From The Company.
FUN: In My Opinion, Chrono Trigger Is The Best RPG EVER! Let's Face It... Square Enix Makes Fantasic RPG. The Moves & Reactions That The Characters Have Is Just Funny As All Get Out. Also, Being Able To Travel Through Time Is So Cool! The Music Is Also Pretty Sweet Too. The Battles Are Fun To Play As Well As Watch. I Rate Fun 2.
REPLAY: Chrono Trigger Has A Neat Feature After You Beat The Game Called NEW GAME +. This Feature Allows The Player To Play The Game Again Using The Levels That The Characters Are At When You Beat The Game. Example: Chrono Was At LV 45 When You Beat The Game. Once You Press NEW GAME +, Chrono Starts The Game At LV 45. Along With Playing The Game Over Again With Old Levels, There Are New Feature Scattered Throughout The Game. However, It's Pretty Much The Same Game. I Rate Replay 1.8.
STORY: It All Starts Off With Chrono (Or Any Five Letter Name) Heading Off To The Town Festival In Town Square. When He Gets There, He Runs Into A Girl His Age. She Calls Herself Marle. Both Chrono & Marle Heads Over To Watch Chrono's Friend's Invention In Working Order. The Invention Is A Teleporter Pad. When Marle Offers Her Help & Steps Onto The Pad. However, Marle's Necklace Creates A Worm Hole That Sends Her Into The Past. Chrono Figures That She Was His Duty To Bring Her Back & Jump Into The Worm Hole. I Rate Story 2.
DIFFERENCE/ORIGINAL: In The Battles, The Enemies Attack When They Are Able To & Every Five To Twenty-Five Seconds. The Main Character Is Named Chrono & Travels Through Time. Get It? Chrono As In Chronology? Chronology Is The Study Of A Series Of Events, Which The Main Character, Chrono, Has To Deal With Through Time. I Rate Difference/Original 1.
DIFFICULTY: This Game Is A Bit Hard, But Not Impossible. Enemies Will Attack You Randomly. It Hard To Stay Alive In A Very Long Game. Well... Only If You Are A Greenhorn (Beginner). Other Than That, It's Not Really Hard. I Rate Difficulty 1.
TOTAL - 7.8
